Integration of the different disciplines in stratigraphy with precise and accurate absolute time information from radio-isotopic methods, is a prerequisite for describing Earth’s history in a time-resolved manner. The availability of precise and accurate temporal information allows the integration and comparison of disparate proxy records (climatic, biologic, igneous, tectonic) and quantification of the rates of environmental and biological change. This session will bring together specialists of these different fields to discuss the challenges of time-resolved stratigraphic correlation.
