The last two periods of the Palaeozoic witnessed a successful increase in the number of GSSPs in the last years, which is very promising on one hand to complete the succession of stratotypes for both periods and on the other hand to promote high-resolution studies in these deep time intervals. Now it is time to stimulate a multi-and interdisciplinary approach to the resolution of high-scale events in the last 90 million of years of the Palaeozoic. In this session we welcome studies focused on resolving correlations between marine and continental successions and/or among different regional scales in the Carboniferous-Permian and high-resolution interdisciplinary studies integrating different tools from biostratigraphy to geochemistry, geochronology, magnetostratigraphy, sequence stratigraphy.
